This is the final paper I wrote for my geography of international development course in 2022. It sums up core themes from class readings and discussions on the history, theory, and impacts of the international development sector.

Sex Tourism in the Caribbean
This essay connects the failure of late 20th neoliberal development policies to the rise of sex tourism in the Caribbean. Inspired by the work of Jamaica Kincaid and Beverly Mullings, I wrote this as my final paper for my class Geography of the Caribbean in 2021.

​Neoliberalism and the 2011 Egyptian Uprising
In Fall 2021, I took a course on the history of the modern Middle East, feeling that my education on the MENA region was severely lacking. This class was one of the most rewarding I took at Cal Poly. My final paper for the course, linked below, contextualizes the 2011 Arab Spring in Egypt within two decades of neoliberal policies preceding it.
